When you work closely with folks for many hours a week and you enjoy their company it makes for a more pleasurable working relationship. My Empowher Capital Partner, Kylie Egan, got to spend a weekend going through some more training in Bellevue.
When I signed up for the training, I was mostly doing it for Kylie to have a more broad understanding of all the various real estate ventures we do and how they all fit in the scheme of things. But it was also so we could have some intensive time to be able to work on some of our other goals.
Little did I know that the group putting on the training was founded and led by a friend of mine who years back we went through other training together. I’m always a firm believer that there is always something to learn and this time was no different. The teaching asked some questions that I never really gave myself time to think through and answer. In doing so, it helped me get closer to our goals. It also helped give an opportunity for Kylie and I to better understand each other and our roles and how they complement each other.
Don’t think it was all a bed of roses, we still had to sacrifice time with our families, money to get to the event, and very long days to get that growth and understanding. But you will always pay for your education either through investing time or resources. Folks that choose to not use their resources spend a far greater investment of time figuring it out on their own or releasing mistakes until they get it.
I have been there, done that too, many times that I’m not willing to go back. Education is great, but only if you put it to use does it become wisdom. So get back out there and put it to use, you won’t regret it.
Until the next adventure….
