The great thing about life is that it is always changing. So anyone who says they are bored, clearly is missing out. While going to any number of networking events, or getting to know fellow mastermind members. I find some amazing folks.
One of them is now 20 year old Jocelyn. We met at our Christian mastermind group, KREI, and have been friends ever since. While she had never been to Washington state and lived in Arizona, I informed her that if she ever made it up l would be happy to take her on a tour. This summer we got the chance to. Her fiance is from Shelton, WA and she came up to visit him this summer.
So of course we stayed with a trip to the black bear diner. If you want giant sized portions of very yummy food, you will want to find a black bear diner. The very first one was started in Shasta, California and they have spread out along the west coast and into Arizona from there.
Then because we both love real estate I toured them around some of our properties in Bremerton area.
That’s when it hit her fiancĂ©, Brendan. He likes the idea of house flipping. He got so excited to suddenly click and figure out the connection with distressed property and how we make them look great again and provide much needed housing in the market.
But he never would have known it, had he not taken the chance to get out and meet up with strangers. He was willing to walk into a potentially awkward situation and make the best of it. Unfortunately, so much of the younger generation are not even willing to step remotely out of their comfort zone and in doing so they miss out on so much life.
You see, without hard things we can’t appreciate the easy, without challenges we don’t get better and our muscles and brains don’t get stronger, without cold we don’t appreciate the heat, without times of solitude we don’t appreciate times spent with others, with busy times we don’t appreciate quiet relaxing times. Life is not meant to be easy, comfortable, or relaxing every step of the way. It’s just life. If we stop personalizing every little thing and attaching a positive or negative emotion, then we can simply accept life as it comes and face whatever it throws at us.
We always have a choice and our mindset determines how good or bad of a life we want to have. So maybe we should consider stop listening to everyone else’s opinion, draw our own conclusions and then ask ourselves “does it really matter?”
Because at the end of the day it doesn’t even matter, why waste our most precious resource “time” on it. Time is the one thing we don’t get more of and it is a limited supply we each have. So let’s start this next day, remembering our most precious resource and use it for the things that matter most to us.
Until the next adventure…
