We all have friends. Some of our friends are only for a short season. Some are for longer seasons. Some are for life. Some of our lifelong friends are Sam and Denise Baumgardner.
When we were leaving, I just happened to look across the parking lot and spotted these life long friends. It was unbelievable. We immediately grabbed them and found a place to go eat.
What a special blessing it was to catch up. Our kids were born at the same time and they helped Kurt and I when we were leading a youth group at our church. So tons of great stories about camp and teen events. But some of the best ones involved one of us bringing a pack in play and putting all the kids in Jammie while we all played games for scrap hours after church.
We learned how to raise kids, figure out married life with kids, figuring out how to do life as Christians wanting to bless others. So we went through many ups and downs of life as well as prayed cried, rejoiced, and waited on the Lord together. That is why they are life long friends.
You see real friends don’t leave when life gets hard. Real friends don’t get offended when you have an off day, they always forgive even when not asked. I hope you have friends like these in your life. That you can not see for more than 5 years and you pick right up where you left off the last time.
Relationships are people are top priority for Kurt and I but sometimes we just get busy living life. In our world we don’t lose friends. We just don’t talk as often as we would like. But we always remember the phone goes both ways, so we know we’ll catch up some time and when one of us makes it happen, even if it a surprise opportunity.
I hope you are finding these blogs insightful to some of our many adventures and we all have many more.
Until the next adventure…
