While the PNW is often a temperate climate, it has many ecosystems all its own. We have a rainforest here, mountain regions, high desert, and sea levels. So it works best to have layers since you don’t know which climate you might be in at any given time.
The challenge for me that exists is that there is only so much room on the rv and it is not like you can put your summer clothes in a container until next year. I need them all fairly accessible.
The simple pleasure I have learned through this is that I often don’t find myself spending money on something I don’t really need because that space is a high commodity. It also has me rethinking how and what I’m purchasing.
The fabrics that I often used in the PNW don’t work very well in the south with their humidity. Plus RV life has added some more curves to me that also need to be compensated for. I still look for no iron no wrinkle type fabrics, but recognize they don’t always breathe well. So as you see in this picture I’m in the mountains with snow, but just 2 hours later I’m in high desert 75 degree weather.
So I’ve now come to just keep a bag in the car with a few staple clothing items to see me through whatever climate I end up so the adventure doesn’t end. Then I’m also free to be more spontaneous when the moment strikes.
How about you? Need some more spontaneous adventures in your life?
