Yes it’s that time of the year again. When the seasons change and it turns much cooler and since we are still in Washington considerably cooler than our previous winters. So after digging through storage, we found them.
Blue dog’s favorite jammies. You see he is 11 years old and his breed usually only live until 11-13 years old. So he is quite the grumpy old man and makes lots of old man noises. He’s become way more talkative as he’s gotten older. He was never that sassy when he was younger and the other dogs were around.
So when it turns cold if he sees the flannel come out he gets all excited. He really does love them. I think he just knows he will be warm again, and usually it means he gets to go outside with us on an adventure. This time it was just to explore the riverbed after the flooding went down, but he was happy either way.
I also find myself spending more time in libraries during these cold winter months. They are great places to meet new folks, as well as to get large amounts of work done and even get help when you need it. Ever since I was a child, I have loved going to libraries and exploring. The only 2 things I can say in Portuguese came from a record I got from the library as a kid, not because my family taught me.
I also love to read and am constantly reading or listening to books. When I’ve had a bad day, it will be a fluffy book. One that I know has a happy ending even if there is conflict. Other times it is historical fiction, because it is way more fun than just history by itself. Sometimes it is business books, or new things I want to learn, like how to play the banjo or when I was younger how to snowboard. Yes I taught myself how to snowboard from a book, it was fairly easy since I already knew how to skateboard. I just never quite understood the whole stopping thing, some things are better taught in person or video than in a book.
Now with youtube there are so many more things opened up to us, but I still enjoy the tactile holding a book in my hand and kicking back to enjoy. Speaking of, have you checked out my youtube channel recently? Lots of new and exciting things there, you should check it out today and don’t forget to subscribe as that helps others see it as well.
I need to get back to my book, the Santa Fe railroad is facing destruction from Pancho Villa, but it might not actually all be his doing…..
