Home again, Home again, jiggity jig jig!
Although we can be anywhere we can make it home, for a day for a few months or permanently, while we are traveling around working remotely the question always comes up. Where do you live?
I always respond with, well that’s relative to how I’m feeling and what I’m doing. Then they look at me with the most perplexed look. I tell them I’m 100% remote. So in the summertime, my Washington state team needs me all summer long, but my Florida team needs me all winter long. Spring and fall, I can often be found in Alabama, Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana or Arkansas.
But my home base is primarily Washington state. We raised our kids there, launched multiple businesses, served in many ministries there, and just absolutely love the beauty of the PNW. So far we have not found any place remotely close to it’s beauty. We usually reside about an hour north of Seattle so we stay out of the convergence zone and we get 4 beautiful seasons.
These pictures are while I’m crossing the puget sound, where the pacific ocean comes down into the state, to head over to our Bremerton properties. These pictures don’t even do it justice. This is the stuff movies are made of, oh yes they make lots of them up here.
It is also the stuff legends are made of. We have some of the most amazing bigfoot encounters here, as well as hiking trails, places to kayak, or even windsurf. There is always something to do all year long, if you’re willing to leave your house. Since I go bat crazy if I’m stuck inside too long, it is a perfect place for me.
I can walk along the gorgeous rivers, or better yet go salmon fishing. I can hike up in the mountains, or camp under the stars, I can get up close and personal with all kinds of deer, elk and even the occasional moose, or I can just escape the chaos and noise and enjoy all of creation around me.
Yes, home will probably always be Washington state, but for how long or what time of year, that’s always up for discussion 😉
