So out of all of my 13 brothers and sisters, my youngest brother Josh loves to play games the most. So, we get along great, because I firmly believe growing up is totally overrated and there should always be time for fun! My amazing sister In law, Victoria, is equally in love with games only she takes them way more seriously, she actually plays to win. Josh just plays to have fun. So with two parents like that his kids also are great game players.
Thankfully all of us are good sports so no matter who wins, we always have a good time. His kids Jocelyn who is 12 and Logan who is 16 are quick learners and always willing to try a new game. So each time we visit we try to get new games for them or bring new games. This Christmas was no exception. We got Logan a game called Taco or Burrito and Jocelyn a game called Beat that, the bonkers battle.
They’ve played the beat that game and absolutely love it. It is all kinds of crazy activities like cup stacking against another player or bouncing ping pong balls into cups or standing on one foot, while twirling something. For kids growing as fast as they are, Jocelyn has grown almost a foot this year alone, it is very challenging. Then again us older folks are quite challenged by it too 😉
Of course they are always trying to get me to play their video games, but ever since the concussions there is no way. I get such bad motion sickness I can’t even watch them play let alone play myself. So one time we went and did an escape room adventure and all was great we had solved all the puzzles under the time allotted, but then just as we were supposed to push the button to diffuse the bomb, Victoria accidentally pushed the button that detonated the bomb. Yup we never let her live that one down 😊
Whether we are just exploring a new park, or walking on the beach, we always enjoy spending time with their family, as long as they don’t get hangry. My brother has learned he can no longer share a chicken meal with his daughter, otherwise she is hungry in 20 minutes and hangry Jocelyn is not near as fun. But then if he gives her all the food she needs, he’s hangry and he’s worse than her. Good thing they invented the word hangry so we all know what to call that bad attitude and irritable spirit we get when we are hungry.
The second picture is of their cat fireball. It may be a really nice and fun cat, but since it looks exactly like the cat who just bit my finger and sent me to the ER, I’m a little more hesitant around her. I’m sure next time I visit the bite won’t be so fresh in my mind or finger and she will get more love from me.
Until the next adventure…
