You may have heard. It said that “life is about the dash” and not know what that meant. So many times in this life were born, we live, we die. And if you go and walk through a cemetery, many times, I used to take my kids and we go to the Pioneer cemeteries – the cemeteries where the founding fathers and women of an area were buried. And all you would see was their name and a date and a dash and a date. And I would tell them that their life was represented by that dash, That Dash is incredibly small, in comparison to their life, which may have been a hundred years and the things they saw in the things they did.
But just as quickly as their life came and went and may have seemed incredibly full, it also can quickly be forgotten. So in an effort to be more intentional with our lives, both Kurt and I have really focused on the relationships in our lives. Some years were very successful, other years were not so successful.
When we are focused on relationships, we’re not necessarily just focused on what can the other person give to us, but, instead, focused on what can we bring to the relationship and what can we do for them? How can we be a blessing to them and their life? In doing so, we’ve had many opportunities to be in connection with many great and powerful people. And some of them their names, it will never be across the front page of a newspaper or ever be on some financial report.
But it doesn’t mean that they weren’t rich, and it doesn’t mean that they didn’t have extreme value. You see many people that we come across bring value every single day, that they’re still alive to their families, to their friends, to their businesses, to their communities. And it happens in different ways.
So, when we come across these people, each and every market that we go into, here at our company, American Made Home Solutions were always focused on sustainable growth. And what does that look like? And who’s going to be a part of that? And who’s going to build out? Who’s going to have that bigger vision and continue to build out a legacy, that it’ll continue to grow and grow and grow far. Beyond the time, we have come and gone through it or the other is you know, organization have come and gone. But to do that, it means having relationships. And if you know anything about relationships, you know, they take work, they take effort, you take being intentional.
So the pictures today that I’m showing you are from an opportunity where actually got to meet one of my coaches in person, after we had completed his program. So you guys may not be aware, we do coaching programs all throughout our business in different times and places. And one of them that we did for our executive rentals was out Williamson’s Executive Rental Coaching Program and he boost us to that next level.
We started with Milani Hawks – “Why not me being be.” It was a great launching pad. It got us up and rolling and did phenomenal, but we needed to go to that next level. And House program took us to that next level.
So any time I have the opportunity to be wherever he’s at, I always tried to get there just because I gained so much value from that. And this time, it was great to just be able to have the time with him. I was invited to be able to let him come and tour a couple of our properties. And some of the others students in the area and their properties, and to see and collaborate with one another. And it was such a joy and such a blessing to us. But it was also a blessing to them because sometimes we forget that, we do have a purpose and we forget that we have an impact on other people’s lives.
So I want to encourage you find your purpose today. Find your purpose in this moment. Find Purpose in the week ahead. Find your purpose for the rest of this quarter as you look and move forward through your life, is what you make of it. Although it may just be a dash on your Tombstone. All the Legacy that gets left behind are the relationships and the people that you touched in you impacted.
And Christ is calling us to leave a far greater Legacy. And if you’re up for the challenge, it’s a much more rewarding. It’s always exciting and rewarding more able to bring others to Christ or see him at work in their lives and we’re able to encourage and build that up. But it’s also encouraging to empower people in their purpose and what their God-given gifts and talents are. And we’re super excited about that as well.
So I hope you have the opportunity, and you choose to make not just your day-to-day impactful, but the rest of this week, the rest of this year, and the many years ahead of you to come just as impactful. We look forward to meeting you out on the road until next time.
