On the road again, I just can’t wait to get on the road again, woo hee!

Not a great way to start off our next leg of the journey. We had barely gotten 10 miles down the road and we lost all power. We pull over and can’t seem to find anything amiss, no low batter, no low fluids, nothing. So we turn the generator on and run it for like 15 minutes. It starts back up, but this time we only get like 1 mile down the road.

Ugh. We pull over again, this time letting it run for 30 minutes. It starts back up again and we take off. This time we get about 5 more miles down the freeway.

This time when we pull over we leave the generator running while we start digging in much deeper to the source. All the forums are suggesting it might be a plugged fuel filter. Only there’s like 6 of them on an RV. So we decide I get to drive to the nearest parts store 30 miles away in the Dalles, Oregon to pick these up. By the time I get there they are closed to closing and they only have like 2 of the 6 filters. I grab them and some food, because of course I’m hungry again, get back to the RV.
While I’ve been gone, Kurt has been talking to our friend who drives semi trucks for a living. He basically freaks Kurt out about getting air in the lines by changing them on the side of the road so that Kurt is unwilling to change them now. He starts it back up again and I suggest trying to get to the nearest RV park and plugging in. At this point we had been boon docking for about 2 weeks so we were seeing a pattern with that length of time and this power issue.
Well Praise the Lord, there was an RV park 5 miles away. We barely make it in before it dies again, but we made it, whew! We stay there for 2 days recharging the system and are finally more confident that we can make it to Walla Walla, WA where my mom and brother lives. Who would have guessed the adventure we would have had just trying to go 200 miles, but the Lord keeps our adventure cup over flowing and we keep enjoying the ride!
