Diary of a Remote RV Investor – Episode 3

by | Mar 19, 2021 | Blog

We have some time before my sister’s surgery to get a bunch of work done and test out our new electric bikes and intercom helmets.  For our Christmas presents this last year we decided to give ourselves new  Rad Rover electric bikes and Sena intercom helmets.  It got the Rad Rover Step thru and Kurt got the Rad Rover 5.  I was bummed because I wanted the cute white one with brown leather or even the cool army green one, since green is my favorite color, but they only had mine in boring black. They did, however have the cool army green one for Kurt so at least he got his choice.  The Sena helmets were a special treat because they are blue tooth with your phone so you can use your GPS, take calls or listen to audio books.  They also have an intercom system and you can connect with other riders who also have them near you.  So that way Kurt doesn’t feel like Charlie Brown when I’m talking to him, wha wha wha wha wha.;-)

So we headed out with our trusty sidekick Blue dog and quickly realized that although Kurt loved the pedal assist level 3, Blue needed it to stay at 1 or 2.  That dog may be fast and strong but not built for endurance.  The poor dog was trying to do his business while Kurt was dragging him along.  It was quite the site.  The intercom definitely saved us that time.  We later figured out that you can’t intercom with the GPS on.  So when Kurt wanted me to just follow the GPS, I did it, even though it was clearly wrong.  It sent us off road through a field and back across the same freeway, twice!  When he caught up to me at the stoplight he gave me permission to not follow GPS and just use my good built in GPS God gave me.
